Mutnovsky volcano is a thyroid active volcano in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Previously, it was a volcano consisting of three merged cones. After the most powerful eruption, the tops of the cones were destroyed and now it is an active crater, the area of which is 2 by 1.5 km. This is the most beautiful of volcanoes, the fumarole site of which is the most powerful in the whole world. Having driven only 80 km south from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, we will find ourselves with you in another reality ... Snow-capped peaks of hills and volcanoes, the power and grandeur of Kamchatka nature. On the way to Mutnovsky volcano (in the presence of favorable weather) You will be able to admire the VLK up close. Gorely and Vilyuchinsky. And if the weather is very clear, you will see a number of volcanoes: Opal, Asacha, Hodutka, Foster, etc., and of course the unique beauty of the Dangerous Canyon with the waterfall of the same name.
Climbing the volcano is not difficult! We drive up on snowmobiles so close that it takes only 30-40 minutes to walk and you are in the crater. And there...: mud boiling boilers; steam-gas jets and sulfur formations; an ancient glacier creeping onto a fumarole site and much more…
